Latam Edge Award 22 announces the finalists

The Latam Edge Award 2022 has revealed its 21 finalists and opened free registration for the Latam Edge Virtual Expo 2022. The event will take place on 30 June, when the startups will present their projects to 35 European specialists and the winners of the seven categories will be announced.

The initiative is organised by LatamScaleup (a British consultancy), Birmingham Enterprise Community and Eutech Chamber (the European Technology Chamber). It is the only award in Latin America for startups and pre-scale-ups that want to expand to the United Kingdom and the European Community.

The 21 finalists are spread across AgriTech, BioTech, CleanTech, FinTech, HealthTech, Smart Cities and Social Impact, with Brazil predominating at 81%. Entries were received from 100 companies in 9 countries.

Sandra Sinicco, CEO of Latam ScaleUP, noted significant changes: “Brazil, which traditionally accounts for an average of 60% of entrants, secured 80% of the finalist places.”

The seven winners will receive £40,000 in a range of services, including the Latam Global Connection Programme and business consultancy.
